Creating Productive Learning Environments

Working with kindergartners has been such a great learning experience for me so far. I have gotten to know and love the children as my own. The teacher has been so nice and helpful with this and the learning environment. When I am in the classroom I have noticed that the teacher has worked with the students the way they are needing to be helped. She recognizes there many different talents and skills by being there for them when they need it. She does so many different activities that the students enjoy in a way that they will be able to not just learn but have fun while learning.  I also have noticed that she has students that help her everyday within the classroom. First thing in the morning she has a different student show a how to project for examples How to make a peanut butter sandwich or How to make waffles.

A time that the teacher offers choices for her students is during story time. She lets the students decide what kind of story they would like to read and even what song they would like to sing. The most obvious choice that she lets them chose is when they do rotations on what rotation they would like to go to first out of the three to four there are. Letting the students have choices are important because it helps them learn more information and even gain a new skill.

It's really important for students to feel loved and safe. This is important because it lets the students know that they do matter, are welcomed, and that they know they will be protected by there teacher. The teacher I work with does this by showing them she does care by getting to know each student and even there parents individually. She has had many volunteers over the years and before she lets them she gets to know them making sure that who helps her in the classroom is someone trusting and caring to be able to be around her kids. This teacher even listens to her students and what they have to say.  If they are being bothered by another student I have noticed she talks to them and disciplines when best is needed. She truly does love and care for her students.
